Provided with simple readings on these masterpieces, our lectures will develop into discussions on how the adaptation/translation processes function. A selection of techniques and adaptation solutions will be addressed in order to create a framework of criticism. The discussions will also cover a variety of theory and terminology. The goal will be to attain a taste of comparative studies of films and literature to be able to appreciate both the value of a film and its source text as complementary texts, enriching and challenging each other.
