Objective The aim of this course is to unify the diverging contexts and developments in the studies of history of culture.

Course Learning Outcomes At the end of the course students will;
• Understand the man as a cultural being
• Know the different uses of the concept of culture
• Define the concept of culture
• Know the main institutions that constitute culture
• Explain the changes as a result of the Neolithic Revolution in the process of urbanization
• Compare the role of rhetoric and writing in Ancient Greece
• Explain why we can consider the Roman Empire as a communications society
• Understand the process that prepares the Middle Ages and the Renaissance invention of printing and processing of thought has information
• Explain the contribution of the French Revolution in social communication
• List the reasons that differentiate the modernization of the U.S. to
• Know the cultural history of the individualization
• Define the concepts of modernization, homocentrism, geocentrism, ethnocentrism
