Programme Profile
This program aims at preparing its future graduates to undertake specific research specialized on the EU, its institutions and common policies.
Qualification Awarded
The students who have successfully completed this programme are awarded the Master’s Degree in European Union.
Level of Qualification
This is a Second Cycle programme.
Access Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree (First Cycle); YDS (Foreign Language Proficiency Examination) score of minimum 65 in French or English. The students who have B2 level in DELF and C1 level in DALF certificates, or a TOEFL score of minimum 450 for PBT, 130 for CBT, 50 for IBT, or 5 points for each section of the IELTS are regarded as providing the conditions of foreign language requirement.
Programme Requirements and Regulations
The Master’s Degree in European Union is awarded to students who have successfully completed all the compulsory courses in the curriculum (60 ECTS) with a cumulative grade point average of minimum 2.75 out of 4.00, a graduate seminar and a master’s project (30 ECTS).

Programme Outcomes
1 | Should have developed further the knowledge on the EU previously acquired through the BA program; |
2 | Should be in possession of the fundamentals and undertake analyses of subjects like the European institutions, European law, the acquis, EU deepening and widening processes, EU foreign and security policy etc. |
3 | Should be able to undertake a diplomatic career at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of EU Affairs; |
4 | Should have a solid background on Turkey-EU relations; |
5 | Should have acquired the necessary basic knowledge in order to undertake publications and programs on the EU within printed and visual media; |
6 | Should be able to work as a technical specialist on the EU within the private sector and NGOs; |
7 | Should be able to follow national and international publications on his/her field of specialisation and have the necessary linguistic competence (in Turkish, French, English etc.) to contribute to them. |
Occupation Profiles of Graduates
The program prepares its future graduates to careers in a) diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of EU Affairs; b) the private sector and NGOs as a technical specialist on the EU.
