Introduction

Programme Profile

The aim of Production Management and Marketing Master Program is giving an advanced theoretical and practical knowledge about marketing and related disciplines. Graduated students will be able to take responsibility and produce solutions as an individual or to be a team member about complex problems which they can come across in business life unpredictably. They will be able to define regional and global subjects which affect the marketing discipline directly or indirectly, develop solutions or strategies which depend on evidence and researches. They will be able to create innovative and pioneer marketing idea. In this program medium of teaching is Turkish and the lessons in the first semester are the prerequisites of the lessons in the second semester. The students who could not suceed in any first semester lesson will not continue to related lessons.


Qualification Awarded

The students who have successfully completed this program are awarded the Master’s Degree in Production Management and Marketing.

This is a Second Cycle program.


Access Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (First Cycle) in Social Sciences and Humanities or Administrative, Economic and Commercial Sciences with a cumulative grade point average of minimum 3.00 out of 4.00; ALES (Academic Personel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Examination) score of minimum 75 or GRE (Graduate Record Examination) Quantitative Section score of minimum 660 (152 points according to the new scoring system); Galatasaray University French/English Language Proficiency Examination score of minimum 70 or ÜDS (Interuniversity Board Foreign Language Proficiency Examination) score of 70 in French/English or KPDS (Public Service Foreign Language Proficiency Examination) score of 70 in French/English.


Programme Requirements and Regulations

The Master’s Degree in Production Management and Marketing is awarded to students who have successfully completed all the compulsory courses in the curriculum and the required number of elective courses (60 ECTS) with a cumulative grade point average of minimum 2.75 out of 4.00, a graduate seminar and a master’s thesis (60 ECTS).

Bachelor’s Degree (First Cycle) in Social Sciences and Humanities or Administrative, Economic and Commercial Sciences with a cumulative grade point average of minimum 3.00 out of 4.00

4 Students will be able to use market opportunities for companies benefit via research findings.
5 Students will be able to define regional and global subjects which affect the marketing discipline directly or indirectly, develop solutions or strategies which depend on evidence and researches.
6 Students will be able to detect and evaluate different problems in marketing area and use them in cross discipline studies.
7 Students will be able to have computer software and usage knowledge which are needed in production management and marketing.
8 Students will be able to define company’s problems via using quantitative decision making techniques and present solutions.
9 Students will be able to have academic thinking skills in production management and marketing.
10 Students will be able to create innovative and pioneer marketing idea.
11 Students will be able to develop effective supply chain strategies via analyzing the development in logistics.
12 Students will be able to have ethical values in marketing area and take action in the light of those values.

Grading Scheme and Grade Distribution Guidance

For each course taken, the student is given one of the following letter grades by the instructor:

A student who has received a letter grade of “AA”, “BA” or “BB” in any course is considered successful. Students who have received a grade of “CB” or “CC” are also considered successful provided that their cumulative grade point average is at least “2.75”. The letter grades “P” and “F” indicate “Pass” and “Fail”, respectively. The grade BL is given to a student who successfully completes the Master’s Thesis, whereas “BS” denotes a failing grade for Master’s Thesis.
 
Cumulative Grade Point Averages (CGPA): The total credit points for a course are obtained by multiplying the grade points by the credit hours. In order to calculate CGPA the sum of total credit points earned in all the courses taken by a student is divided by the sum of all credit hours.
