Objective | The main objective of this course is to teach the historical background and evolution of radio and television in terms of social, political and cultural aspects. This course also focuses on thecnological changes and format diversifications in radio and television in years. One of the important aims of this course is also to get students obtain the image of differenciations in terms of radio and television broadcasting paradigms from country to country. |
Content | The beginning of tv in Turkey and the changing of broadcasts in years. The proggressing and the changing of turkish audio visual environment between 1964 and 1990 in terms of legal, cultural and political transformations. Dissolving of public broadcasting systems and the dynamics of local broadcasting. Alternative media theory and practice. |
Course Learning Outcomes |
At the end of this course, the student shall; - Learn historical evolution of radio and televison braodcasting sytems both across the word and Turkey. - Interpret radio and televison broadcasting in terms of political, soscial and economic factors - Learn the characteristics of different systems and experiences of radio and television broadcasts such as public, commercial, local and alternative. |
