Objective
This course aims to introduce students into the growing research area of international migration. For that aim, questions concerning international migration, labor migration, security and immigration, ethnic diversity, models of integration in Europe as well as migration policies of the EU, the USA and Turkey will be addressed.
Course Learning Outcomes
1) Evaluate contemporary migrations and the general trends in international migration
2) Compare diverse theories of migration
3) Assess labor migration to Europe in the aftermath of Second World War
4) Compare and contrast different models of integration
5) Analyze the transformation of the EU's migration policies
6) Evaluate Turkey's migration policy in retrospect
