Objective |
Acquire a solid Greco-Latin culture, in various fields (literature, arts, sociology, history, architecture). To know literary texts and genres at the foundation of European culture. To be able to understand mythological references in French or foreign literary texts. |
Content | History of political regimes, sociology (organization of social classes, roles, religious worship, recreation), literature (ancient theater, ancient poetry, mythology, notion of creation and artistic inspiration), arts (painting, sculpture, opera ), architecture (Greek theaters, Roman theaters). |
Course Learning Outcomes |
Varied knowledge (historical, sociological, literary, architectural, artistic) about Greco-Latin culture. Present an organized presentation on a subject related to the Greco-Latin culture (dynamism, ease, clarity). Write a dissertation of general culture. |
