Objective The objective of this course is to explain when and in what context the fields of expertise in journalism emerged in the world and in Turkey; what are these areas; what is the relationship between the source and the journalist / article / text in different areas of expertise; how the different fields fit into the publications. The aim is also for students to choose an area of specialization during the semester and begin to deepen their knowledge in that area.
Content Lectures on the different fields of specialization in journalism with a critical and alternative point of view; transmission of knowledge on what it takes to specialize in these areas; effective participation of students in the learning process by writing short stories.
Course Learning Outcomes At the end of this course, the student will learn what are the objectives of specializing in journalism and what kind of work the specialization requires; he / she can have a more precise idea of the field in which he / she wishes to specialize; he / she can understand the functioning of the domains thanks to the invited professionals; he / she can begin to deepen his / her knowledge in a field of his / her choice.
