Objective The aim of this lesson is to convey to the students what elements of what is called "news" should be included and what should be paid attention to, starting from the question of what the news is and how it can be defined. In this context are examined theoretically and through the examples what is news; what are the features of the news; what may be news; the stages of the news writing process; how to create the point of view of the news; the information gathering phase in the news; techniques used in news writing; inverted pyramid technique and other techniques; basic questions of the news (5Ws); headline, spot, photos, graphics and other visual components use in news; the importance of word choice; news inspection and verification.

2nd week: What are the features of news, introduction to news gathering techniques
3rd week: News gathering techniques
4th week: The importance of the source in the news and how it can be diversified
5th week: News writing process, general information about news writing techniques
6th week: Inverted Pyramid Technique and other news writing techniques
7th week: Exam
8th week: Importance of word usage in the news, title, spot and intermediate titles

Course Learning Outcomes At the end of this course the student;
- has an idea of what may be news;
- learns the importance of context and perspective in the news;
- is able to write news according to 5W rules,
- learns to write a new with its all components such as the title, the subtitles, etc.,
- gains the skill of telling a story by turning it into news language,
- gains the skill of errorless writing of the news,
- has knowledge about the operation of news centers and the preparation of newspapers.
Teaching and Learning Methods Theoretical knowledge transmitted to the students by the lecturer; participation of the professionals in the class as conditions allow or visiting them in their work places; reinforcing the students' news writing and collecting techniques by writing news on various topics.
