Objective The aim of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the video essay as a medium for academic and artistic expression.
Content This course offers a blend of practical and theoretical knowledge on the video essay, encompassing a comprehensive exploration of the essay genre and its relationship with audiovisual media. Throughout the course, students will actively participate in individual video projects, enabling them to experiment and explore the video essay as a versatile and expressive medium. The course covers a range of topics, including audiovisual film criticism, the application of video essays in academic research, and the artistic aspects of the essay film.
Course Learning Outcomes By the end of this course, students should be able to:
- produce a video essay based on their own research project.
- evaluate the suitability of thevideo essay form for specific research questions.
- develop a critical understanding of the creative and aesthetic dimensions of the medium.
