Objective 1. To determine the ship’s position on the ocean,
2. To use concept of the Celestial Coordinates, Time and Apparent Motions of Celestial Body, the Celestial Sphere, composition and dimension of the Solar System for understanding and determining the ship’s position.
Content Göksel seyire giriş, Evren, Güneş sistemi iç ve dış gezegenleri, Gök Küresi, Gök Koordinat Sistemi, Güneş sistemi yapısı ve boyutları, Yer Küresi hareketlerinin açıklanması, Güneşin Görünsel yıllık hareketi, Dec-SHA-RA-GHA-LHA kavramları, Gözüken Güneş ve Ortalama Güneş Vakitleri, Zaman, Zaman denklemi, Tarih hattı, Astronomik Seyir Üçgeni, Baş ucu mesafesi, Intersept ve astronomik mevki hattı çizimi, Astronomik pozisyon mevkisi tespit ve işaretleme, NP 401, HO 229 ve Almanak kullanımı.
Course Learning Outcomes I. Güneş Sistemi, Gök Koordinat Sistemi ve Yer Kürenin Hareketleri hakkında bilgi sahibi olur, Gök cismi saat dairesi, Saat açısı ve Meridyen açıları ile ilgili GHA-LHA-SHA-RA-Dec değerlerinin nasıl bulunacağını ve tespit edileceğini,
II. Zaman kavramı ve zamanlar arasındaki farkları anlamayı ve Alacakaranlık Vakitlerini hesaplamayı,
III. Notik Almanak bilgisi ve kullanımını, Baş ucu mesafesi, Gök cisminin Gök Ufkundan yüksekliğini, Güneşin doğuş ve batışını hesaplamayı,
IV. NP 401 tablolarının kullanımını, seçilen mevkiinin saptanmasını, intersept hesabını, Plotting Sheet kullanımını ve astronomik mevkii hattının Plotting Sheet’e işlenmesini,
V. Güneş ve Ay’da hesabi yüksekliklerin hesaplanmasını ve interseptlerin bulunmasını,
VI. Yıldız hesabi yüksekliğinin ve interseptin bulunmasını ve bilinmeyen yıldızın bulunmasını
VII. NP 401, A-B-C diyagramları ve Offset Cetvellerini kullanarak, yıldızlar yardımı ile astronomik fix koymayı, böylece açık denizde (okyanusta) elektronik seyir yardımcıları olmadan (kullanmadan), gök cisimlerinden yararlanarak, geminin mevkisini tespit edebilir.
