Have an overview of the history of science and technology, particularly applied to communication.

Content |
The course consists of three parts: 1. The scientific spirit. Definition of science, techniques and technology. Exploration of the scientific approach and overview of scientific research methods. 2. General history of science, from prehistory to the twenty-first century. From the birth of science to the most recent developments, a social history of science that links the major discoveries in their historical and social contexts. 3. Science and technology of communication. Birth of the concept of modern communications and the main currents of thought (direct and indirect effects of media, utopias of communication, critical and sociological approaches).
