Objective |
The course aims at presenting the common historical background and economic, social and political features of Latin American countries. Also, the conception of developmentalism as an ideological interpretation of structuralism and dependence and also as a driver of foreign policy for the region, as well as democratization problems are explored. Bilateral and regional relations through integration initiatives and the place of these countries in the current globalized international system are studied. |

Teaching and Learning Methods |
The PowerPoint presentations used in the courses start with a general introduction to the course and include outlines for all sections of the content, lecture notes, and additional explanatory information related to the period or topic covered. They also contain supplementary resources and visual content accessible via shared web links. Additionally, a list of recommended films, organized by periods and themes, is provided to support students' learning processes about the societies, countries, and historical realities of Latin America. Thanks to the use of these resources, regular quizzes are organized throughout the semester so that students can acquire the learning outcomes of the course. |
