Objective The aim of the course is to teach ways to resolve disputes out of court. Among the objectives of the course is for the student to learn alternative dispute resolution methods, their distinctive features, their positive aspects and possible risks compared to resolving the dispute in front of state courts.

Students who successfully complete this course have the following competencies:
- Understands the objectives specified in the course objective section and understands the principles of alternative dispute resolution.
- Explains the concept of alternative dispute resolution and can reveal its difference with other concepts related to trial procedure.
- Distinguishes the different and similar aspects of alternative dispute resolution methods.
- Analyzes the concept of mediation and the advantages and disadvantages of mediation at the expert level.
- Explains how the mediation process is carried out in the context of Turkish law. Learns international texts on mediation and their application scenarios.
- Analyzes existing regulations based on knowledge and has a good command of the subject to be able to offer improvement suggestions.
