The main objective of this course is to evaluate Turkish Cinema according to social events, especially from declaration of Turkish Republic to present in regard of political and economic developments. In addition to that, this course aims to examine thoroughly important Turkish directors and their pieces |

Week 1. Overall introduction and presentation of bibliography. Week 2. Pre-republic Turkish Cinema. Week 3. Muhsin Ertuğrul Cinema and Theater-styled Cinema. Week 4. Theater-styled Cinema Era and society. (with documentary footage.) Week 5. Cinematographic and social features of Transitional Period. Week 6. Cinematographic Films and society structure. Week 7.
