Objective With the expension of the international trade relations, international commercial law become more and more important. The purpose of this lecture is to present the most used rules (soft law rules, international conventions, model laws, model contract) governing the international business relations and to create an awareness on different legal tools used in international transactions.
Content With this aim, the lecture will focuse first on the sources of international commercial law. within this context lex mercatoria, Incoterms 2020 and Unidroit Principles will be treated. CISG governing international sales of goods will take a large part of this lecture. We will also devote some time to international agency and distrbution agreements. Arbitration, as the most commonly used dispute resolution mecanism in international transactions, will be an important subject of the lecture. We will also see the recognition and enforecement of foreign arbitral awards.
