Objective

This course, which is an introduction to the Engineering Management program, aims to provide students/participants of the program with information about basic engineering principles. In this way, it is aimed to ensure that they manage and lead their projects and businesses effectively and efficiently in the institution or business they are involved in.

Course Content

Introduction to Engineering and Engineering Management and Basic Concepts, Historical development of management thought, principles and pioneers, Basic functions of management, Planning and estimation methods in planning, Control functions, Risk Management, Basic engineering calculations, Quality, Productivity, Performance Management.

Course Learning Outcomes

1. Learning the basic application areas of engineering and management
2. Learning the basic concepts of the field of Engineering Management
3. To have knowledge about effective-optimal resource management in a business and to be able to model
4. To learn the basic functions of management in social, human and technical context and to develop methods, techniques and strategies for effective management.
