Objective 1.Teaching the recent history of Turkey to university students
2.Enlightening students about Turkish Revolution Atatürk s political doctrine and
his principles
3.Promoting embracement of Turkish Revolution s aim and mission of modernization
by university students
Content Teaches the basic concepts of the Turkish reformation such as: Republicism, Nationalism, Populism, Secularism, State Control, Revolutionary ideas and unification. It also includes studying the periods of war, political and social aims and law.
Course Learning Outcomes Student, who passed the course satisfactorily can:
1. Will have an idea how a model of a state and society shakes by internal and
external factors
2. Will have a cultural background about 19th and 20th century movements
which affect today
3. Will have information about foundation and conditions of foundation of Turkish
Republic
4. Will have a general understanding about recent history of Turkey
5. Will have a general information about the conditions which created present day
6. Will have an ability to compare the conditions of past and present
