Objective The goal of this course is to evaluate the years 1950-2000 on the basis of the major turning points of the Turkish political life. Through a chronological approach, the principal actors, institutions and mechanisms of the Turkish political life will be examined in the course.
Content Initially, the course will treat through an analytical vision the actors, the institutions and the mechanisms playing a significant role in the Turkish political life. Thereafter, the historical milestones will be dealt in a chronological way.
Course Learning Outcomes Approaching the Turkish political life in an analytical way
Knowing the milestones of the Turkish political life post-1950
Discussing the principal actors, institutions and mechanisms of the Turkish political life post-1950
Being knowledgeable with the principal legal regulations of the Turkish political life post-1950
Teaching and Learning Methods The course will be constituted of the presentations made by the lecturer on given subjects and interactive in-class discussions. Moreover, the students will contribute to the course with the presentations they will do, subjects of which will be predetermined.
