Objective The main aim of the course is to introduce students to the history of the Ottoman Empire from the reign of Selim III. to the end of Balkan Wars. It traces the transformation of the Ottoman Empire by examining major political, social, economic, and cultural developments. Reading assignments will include selected secondary texts.

1 To have a detailed knowledge on the principal concepts, actors and components of the international system
