Content

Objective

- Consolidate the foundations of the French language: stabilize vocabulary, grammar, syntax, and overall oral and written fluency.
- Develop French legal vocabulary, reasoning specific to legal discourse, and formal phrasing used in legislation or court rulings.
- Prepare to understand law courses taught in French: be able to follow a lecture, take notes, and comprehend an academic textbook.
- Develop skills in reading and analyzing texts in French.
- Practice oral expression.
- Gain exposure to French legal culture.

Course Content

4 hours of weekly lessons.
Focused on learning the major stages of French legal history, from Antiquity to the present day, this course consolidates written and oral comprehension and expression through regular practical exercises.

Course Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Understand a definition or a field-specific concept, both orally and in writing
- Give an oral presentation and express their opinion with confidence
- Write in the French language
- Follow a lecture delivered entirely in French
