Content

Objective

To understand the fundamental concepts of Civil Law.

Course Content

The concept and scope of Civil Law, the hierarchy of norms, the concept and types of subjective rights, subjective good faith, the principle of good faith, legal transactions, and the requirements for the validity of legal transactions.

Course Learning Outcomes

The student:
Understands the role of law in society.
Is able to discuss issues relating to the general principles of law.
Is able to express, both orally and in writing, reasoned views on legal matters and proposed solutions to legal problems.
Upholds and safeguards the character of the Republic of Türkiye as a democratic, secular and social state governed by the rule of law, respectful of human rights, committed to Atatürk’s nationalism and based on the fundamental principles set forth in the Preamble to the Constitution, within a framework of social peace, national solidarity and justice.
Internalizes universal principles of law and is able to identify and resolve legal problems from the perspectives of both the law as it is and the law as it ought to be.
