Content

Objective

Aim of this course is to gain knowledge and skills about types of
analysis of films that were produced for different channels and
audience with different aims.

Course Content

Week 1. Image analysis: General approaches and models

Week 2.From film theories to film analysis

Week 3. Techniques and tools of analysis

Week 4. Film as text: Structural and aesthetic approaches

Week 5. Film as narration: Thematic approaches

Week 6. Content & discourse analysis

Week 7. Narrative analysis

Week 8. Intertextuality and film analysis

Week 9. Psychoanalytic and feminist analysis

Week 10. Historical analysis

Week 11. Sociological analysis

Week 12. Analysis of different types of films: TV series

Students
- analyse all kinds of film in the area of cinema, TV and
advertising

a.know theoretical approaches about film analysis
b.know techniques of film analysis
c.have the skills to use tools of film analysis

- do scientific research to apply text-analysis techniques in
cinema and TV field.
