Objective The course will introduce basic concepts of narrative analysis such as plot, character, and narration, and will provide students to examine classical and popular texts through these concepts. The closed reading exercises of the texts from Turkish literature will engage literary terms, styles of literary structures, and narrative strategies with historical context in which the texts are produced. Students will be able to develop their skills of grasping and interpreting literary texts from analytical and critical perspectives.

- will develop their capacity of engaging with literature analytically and critically,
- will be able to develop various professional and intellectual skills in approaching visual and literary texts with reference to the concepts such as story, narration, character and narrative.
