Objective

Providing students with a general understanding on the operation and the main principles of Anglo-American Legal Systems with a special emphasis on the legal system in England and Wales.

Course Learning Outcomes

1. Developing foundational knowledge of the core principles of the Anglo-American legal systems, with a focus on England and Wales, and comparisons to continental legal systems;
2. Gaining a clear understanding of the judicial system in England and Wales, including the interpretation of court judgments;
3. Learning the essentials of English contract law, including negotiating and managing contracts under the laws of England and Wales;
4. Acquiring a solid understanding of the principles for establishing and operating companies in England and Wales;
5. Obtaining functional knowledge in other areas of law that come up recurrently in legal practice in England and Wales.
