Small and Micro States in Europe

Content

Objective

The objective of this course is to examine the role of small and micro European States in the international system. In this context, firstly the theoretical framework will be examined, secondly the diplomatic, economic and commercial relations of these states with their neighbors and with other countries in Europe will be discussed. In this context, we will see how these states, considered geographically small and micro, can play an important role in the international system.

Course Content

1. Theoretical framework
2. States considered as "small" and "micro" in Europe
3. The bilateral relations of these states with their neighbors
4. The regional cooperations in which these States are located
5. The relations of these states with international organizations and the EU
6. The role of these states in the international system

Course Learning Outcomes

1. Students will have knowledge on small and micro European states.
2. Students will have knowledge about;
- the role of small and micro European states in the international system,
- their relations with international institutions
- their political, economic structures
