Objective Recognizing fundamental legal concepts, defining, interpreting and using them; being able to define and explain the principals of methodology
Content Subject of Roman Law and its importance in legal education; Historical introduction and the sources of Roman Law; Law of Persons and Family Law (General concepts, distinction in the law of persons, patria potestas and the Roman family, marriage, divorce, civil capacity, corporations); Procedural Law, (General concepts, evolution of Roman legal procedure, classification of actions), Law of Property (Real rights, possession, ownership, limited real rights, acquisition and loss of real rights)
Course Learning Outcomes Student will be able to determine, identify and restate legal problems and to use legal interpretation principals in an efficient manner in order to analyse and resolve a legal problem and in order to develop a strategy.
Respecting universal principals and notions of law and the ethical standarts, good faith, fairness and equity principals; being sensitive to social problems, democracy, laicism and rule of law principal.
Teaching and Learning Methods The course is lectured with the opportunity of applying the knowledge to hypothetical cases.
