Objective To analyze the continuities and changes of / in European politics through a triple study that focuses on the foreign policies of three dominant actors and study the place of Europe (outside the EU) in international politics and this, in a conjuncture marked by the substitution of the multiple policy of Europe by the supremacy of singular policies.
Content This course focuses on the foreign policies of three actors who dominate and determine European politics, namely United Kingdom, France and Germany. The foreign policies of these three states will be approached from a comparative perspective and in the context of their mutual relations.
Course Learning Outcomes The students:
- Reinforce the base they have acquired especially during the courses Political History, International Politics and Compared Political Regimes;
- Understand the evolution and functioning of decision-making processes through concrete examples;
- Learn the components of foreign policy;
- Improve their ability to lead comparative analysis;
- Understand the actor-system interaction through concrete examples;
- Learn about the functioning of European policy
Teaching and Learning Methods A mixed method combining narratif, debates and presentations, strengthened by audio-visual materials, i.e. documentaries and movies.
