Objective The course aims at defining interactions between economic and
political spheres, the relations between mega-institutions (State and
Market), as well as global economy actors and prevaling regions.
Main and hybride theories of international political economy (IPE)
are explained and theretical debates explored in order to analyze
current dynamics of the global economy and governance problems.
Content The course is organized in two parts: First, IPE theories and their
representative thinkers are presented; second, current international
economic facts are analyzed.
Course Learning Outcomes 1) To define the theoretical foundations of the international political economy (IPE).
2) To analyze international economic relations through IPE models.
3) To identify the problems of international economic systems.
4) To explain the impact of hegemony and emerging powers upon the construction of a global economic order.
5) To analyze current global economic issues.
