Objective The aim of this course is to present the different types of markets, roles of stock exchanges, valuation of different kinds of securities and the essentials of portfolio management.

Week 2.: Financial institutions
Week 3.: Stock exchanges and the formation of stock prices
Week 4.: Short sale, margin trade and options
Week 5.: Computation of stock exchange indexes
Week 6.: Intermediary institutions of financial markets
Week 7.: Stocks, bonds and other securities
Week 8.: Valuation of fixed income securities
Week 9.: Midterm exam
Week 10.: Fundamental analysis in stock valuation
Week 11.: Technical analysis in stock valuation
Week 12.: Portfolio management
Week 13.: Capital asset pricing model
Week 14.: Portfolio performance evaluation
Course Learning Outcomes This course will provide to;
1. Be able to understand the mechanisms of stock exchanges and their role in the economy
2. Discriminate the specifications of different kinds of securities
3. Have knowledge of evaluate stocks, bonds and the other financial securities
4. Be able to manage the funds of the firm in a portfolio context
